Dr. Aminian specializes in treating foot and ankle disorders and conditions created by sports injuries, fractures, arthritis or deformity. His experience includes bunion and forefoot surgery, total ankle replacements, tendon and cartilage repair, minimally invasive/arthroscopic ankle surgery, as well as lower extremity reconstruction.
Dr. Aminian believes in personalized care of patients’ conditions and treatment options and strives to provide the best experience under his care. Dr. Aminian’s greatest satisfaction is in learning his patients’ life stories and watching them gain improved pain control and quality of life through their treatments.
Named a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association (OCMA) for Orthopaedic Surgery in 2015, Dr. Aminian is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. Originally from Chicago, Dr. Aminian completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, earning a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering; then pursued medical school at the University of Rochester, Rochester NY. He then completed his internship and orthopaedic residency at Northwestern University, Chicago. He served as the Chief resident his senior year of residency.
He completed his fellowship training in orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery at the University of Washington, Seattle with Drs. Hansen, Sangeorzan, and Benirschke.
Dr. Aminian has published many research articles in peer-reviewed journals, and has presented his work both nationally and internationally. He serves as a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He continues to be active academically and is the Assistant Chief of the Foot and Ankle Service at Harbor UCLA, training orthopaedic surgery residents.
