Dr. Laura Blumenthal is double board-certified in Dermatology and Mohs Surgery. She completed her undergraduate training at Boston University graduating Cum Laude and majoring in Biology with a minor in Psychology. Following her undergraduate training, she received her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed her internship year in Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center. Dr. Blumenthal then went on to complete her dermatology residency at the University of Southern California – Los Angeles General Medical Center Program and was selected as Chief Resident in her final year of training. She also completed an additional year of sub-specialty training to further hone her skills in Mohs surgery under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Andrew Kaufman.
Dr. Blumenthal prides herself on her compassionate manner and proactive approach to care for patients of all ages. She listens attentively and strives to work collaboratively with her patients to address their concerns and maintain their optimal skin health. Patients praise her for her excellent bedside manner and her thoroughness. She has experience in the surgical removal of skin cancers and repair in cosmetically sensitive areas like the nose, ears, lips, and eyelids.
She is a member of many medical societies including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, and the American Medical Association. She is also an author of several publications in the scientific literature.
