What I love most about pediatrics is being part of a child's life from infancy through adolescence, caring for them as they grow up. Not just providing my best medical expertise, but hearing about their homework, challenges, concerns, and dreams. It gives me great pleasure to be not only their pediatrician, but also their advocate and mentor. It is especially gratifying to have grown patients return with their children and entrust me with their pediatric care.
Caring and listening are both part of offering outstanding care, which might mean simply asking enough questions to ensure I have the complete picture, or going to bat for patients to help overcome any barriers to care.
I want my patients to feel cared for. After years of watching my father's dedication and expertise as a pediatrician, it has been truly an honor to follow his example and create a practice based on compassion and service in addition to excellent pediatric care.
