Dr Kevin Khajavi, M.D., Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at St. Jude Medical Center, brings exceptional expertise to a wide range of knee and shoulder orthopedic conditions, offering the newest minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures. He is Board Certified in Orthopedics with subspecialty fellowship training in Sports Medicine.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Dr. Khajavi completed his undergraduate degree at Duke University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He returned to Houston to attend Baylor College of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree and was inducted into the AOA Honor Society. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery training at Stanford University where he was named Chief Resident. Dr. Khajavi then completed a one year subspecialty fellowship in Sports Medicine/Arthroscopic Surgery at one of the most prestigious orthopedic institutions, NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City.
Dr. Khajavi specializes in injuries and conditions of the knee and shoulder, including knee arthritis, rotator cuff tears, shoulder dislocations, meniscus and ACL injuries. His expertise includes not only total joint replacement but also the latest minimally invasive techniques in arthroscopy.
Dr Khajavi serves not only as Chairman of Orthopedics at St Jude, but is also the regional Medical Director for Total Joint Replacement for Providence St Joseph Health. He led the St Jude orthopedic team to attain Advanced Certification in Joint Replacement from the Joint Commission and was the first recipient of the President’s Commendation for Leadership at St. Jude Medical Center. Dr. Khajavi has been named one of Orange County’s Physicians of Excellence.
His practice philosophy is to provide outstanding care to all of his patients, and treats them as if they were a member of his own family.
