Changes to Lab Services
For Providence Orange County HMO Managed Care Patients beginning July 8.
Dear valued patient,
Our partnership with Labcorp is expanding. As of July 8, 2024, we will
no longer be contracted with Quest Diagnostics and will now be contracted
with Labcorp for the majority of our outpatient lab services.
Who does this affect?
- All patients with a Providence medical group and affiliated HMO (managed
care) health plan will be referred to Labcorp.
-
Quest Diagnostics will no longer be contracted with Providence for HMO
(managed care) laboratory services effective July 8th, 2024.
What should you do if you have an HMO plan and have a Quest Diagnostics
lab appointment?
-
If you have an appointment for lab draw or testing with Quest Diagnostics
before July 8, you should still go to Quest Diagnostics.
-
If you have an appointment for lab draw or testing with Quest Diagnostics
on or after July 8, please cancel your appointment and make a new appointment with Labcorp.
You can bring your Quest Diagnostics order to Labcorp.
- Please note, Labcorp will automatically receive an electronic copy of your
lab order in their system, but you can also bring your Quest Diagnostics
requisition to Labcorp.
What should you do if you have a lab appointment scheduled at a Providence clinic?
- If you have an appointment for lab work at a Providence clinic, you can
still have your specimen collected in that location.
Appointments are preferred with some Labcorp locations welcoming walk-in's.
