After obtaining an MD from the Catholic University of Cordoba School of Medicine in Argentina, Dr. Castro-Rueda performed research in arthritis at Northwestern University School of Medicine and at the University of Michigan. He then completed his residency training at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and subsequently a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of California San Diego.
After his fellowship, Dr. Castro-Rueda was appointed Clinical Instructor at the University of Illinois School of Medicine and previously was in practice in the field of rheumatology at Carle Physician Group in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. He is currently a member of the American College of Rheumatology and has published several papers on rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis.
He is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and treats patients with different forms of arthritis and a wide spectrum of other rheumatic diseases. Dr. Castro-Rueda is fluent in Spanish and English.
