Dr. Karen Evensen is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hip and knee disorders. She treats the full spectrum of lower extremity orthopedic issues, from athletic hip or knee injuries to advanced arthritis requiring hip or knee replacement surgery.
A graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School, she completed an Orthopedic residency at the University of Iowa. She went on to complete dual fellowship training: a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Oncology at the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by a fellowship in Joint Reconstruction through the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.
Dr. Evensen focuses on customizing patient care, ranging from conservative management options --such as lifestyle changes, structured physical therapy, and joint injections-- through surgical management. Her surgical approach includes use of minimally invasive techniques and a multidisciplinary team approach in order to successfully return each patient to an active and healthy lifestyle.
