Melody Opene, WHNP-BC, MSN, RN is a board certified women's health nurse practitioner. She completed 3.5 years of training, graduating magna cum laude with a Masters of Science in Nursing from California State University of Fullerton. Her internship consisted of two years of training in OB/GYN at Kaiser OC clinics and a semester at St Joseph Hospital. While receiving her education, Melody worked for five years at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center on a medical/surgical and oncological unit as a registered nurse. She then transitioned into working as a labor and delivery nurse at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center where she worked for a year.
Melody has a passion for seeing women empowered through education about their reproductive health. Having worked with cancer patients, Melody aims to help prevent late-stage cancer diagnoses through thorough history-taking, screening, and follow-up. She loves working in women's health because reproductive care involves seeing women through their lifespan, from menarche to post-menopause. Melody is excited about building long-term relationships with her patients to the extent of caring for her patient throughout her lifespan and her patient's children.
