    Biography
    Dr. Sara Pointer is a licensed clinical psychologist. She has been in practice for over 12 years. She specializes in helping clients cope with challenges including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions (e.g. retirement) and relationship issues. Her area of focus is the older adult population. Dr. Pointer works together with clients to create an individualized plan that focuses on the client's needs and goals. Dr. Pointer helps hold clients accountable while identifying and overcoming barriers to goals. Treatment also focuses on highlighting successes to increase a sense of mastery and belief in the capacity to change. Furthermore, mixing humor with compassion can help ease the process towards change. Dr. Pointer primarily utilizes cognitive behavioral interventions as well as mindfulness techniques to address client needs.
