Dr Truong finished his High School Baccalaureate in Mathematics and Physics in Paris, France. He subsequently moved to United States for his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr Truong received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine and completed his fellowship training in endocrinology at the University of California, Davis, Medical Center. He was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Davis, Medical Center before he moved to Mission Viejo in 1992.
Dr Truong was the Medical Director of the Mission Heritage Medical Group Laboratory. As an Endocrinologist, he has a deep interest in Lipid Metabolism and was the Co-Director of the Mission Internal Medical Group Lipid Clinic. He started the Endocrine Nuclear Program for radioiodine treatment of patients with thyroid disorders. He also founded the Osteoporosis Center and the Weight Management Program at Mission Internal Medical Group.
Dr Truong chose a career in medicine for the challenge of the field and to be able to care for other people. He believes that no other profession offers the compassion and the unique relationship and trust between physician and patient. In his practice he strives to deliver state-of the-art care to his patients.
