Dr. Steve Tran originally grew up in Wichita, Kansas since the age of 5. He finished his Bachelor's of Arts Degree at Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas in 1991. He attended medical school at the University of Kansas Medical Center and finished in 1995. He completed his residency at the University of Kansas Internal Medicine program in Wichita, Kansas and graduated in 1998.
Afterwards, he moved out to sunny California for Nephrology fellowship training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. Since then, Dr. Tran has been in Nephrology practice in the Mission Viejo area since the year 2000. He was previously affiliated with South County Nephrology Consultants Medical Group for the past 11 years. Dr. Tran and his associates recently joined Mission Internal Medical Group in August 2011.
Dr. Tran's Nephrology practice involves evaluation and management of patients with hypertension, chronic kidney disease, end stage renal disease on dialysis, and renal transplant patients. Dr. Tran and his associates cover most of the southern Orange county hospitals including Mission Regional Medical Center, Laguna Beach - Mission Hospital, Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, and San Clemente Memorial Medical Center.
Dr. Tran has been involved with various committees at Mission Hospital including Medicine Executive committee and Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee for the past several years. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 kids, biking, playing tennis, and playing the piano.
Dr. Tran also speaks Vietnamese and Spanish.
