When calling our office to schedule your first appointment, we will help you to determine that we can provide the appropriate services for your child and send out several questionnaires for you and your child's teacher to complete. We ask that these be returned at least three days before the first office visit. As a courtesy, we will also check current insurance eligibility and referral needs prior to each visit.

1. We gather an extensive developmental, educational, behavioral, medical and family history about your child from parents, care providers and teachers. This information is scored, reviewed and expanded upon when Dr. Ross meets with the family.
2. In the presence of the family, Dr. Ross does a neurodevelopmental evaluation and interview with your child. This provides information about your child's auditory and visual processing abilities, motor control, and various kinds of memory, behavior, attention, activity, and organizational skills. Testing gives Dr. Ross the opportunity to listen, observe, interact with your child and determine his or her child's strengths and challenges.
3. Your child is weighted and measured and a physical and neurological examination is performed.
4. All the information from the multiple sources is processed and utilized in making a diagnosis and for constructing an intervention plan. The plan involves developmental, educational, behavioral, and medical recommendations. A comprehensive report of all this information is developed and is provided to the parents/care providers and referring physician.
5. Dr. Ross meets with you, and sometimes your child, to review the report and discuss her impressions and recommendations, to educate about the conditions/diagnoses, to make referrals to outside providers and to educational materials and to answer any questions.
